Summary: I think we've had enough of circus's that are laden with corruption and really bad people/happenings. How about a bit of whimsy and wonder for the showbiz! That's what the eccentric Dr. Lao is all about!

History: Supposedly more than 70 centuries old, Dr. Lao makes his living collecting the weird, the wild, and the wonderful. His most prized possession is a small catfish...capable of transforming into a sea serpent found in Loch Ness. Nevertheless, he sees the world as a great big circus, and so should you.

Notable Kills: None. Even Medusa's spell is undone.

Final Fate: Despite some mongrels trying to sabotage his show, Dr. Lao comes out unscathed, and is satisfied with how it went in the long run, especially considering how he stopped the place from getting razed by greedy exploiters. Leaving inspiration in his wake, Dr. Lao departs for more places to see.

Powers/Abilities: Medusa can turn others to stone, and the Loch Ness Monster can become her true form outside of water (and somehow grow the heads of her neighboring weirdos).

Weakness: Nessie will revert to her fish form if she so much as contacts water.

Scariness Factor: 1.5-Dr. Lao ultimately wants you to enjoy the show, and perhaps learn a bit about yourself, so he's good in our book. Sure, some of his cohorts get a little out of hand, but he's quick to fix that.

Trivia: -This film is based off the 1935 novel, "The Circus of Dr. Lao".

-Jim Danforth's stop-motion work in this film (you may recognize him from his work on "Jack the giant Killer") was nominated for an academy award.
